Books that deconstructed the monkey
I figure it would be a good idea to write a post listing some books that began the evolution of this blog as well as my thoughts and renaming it "Deconstructing the Monkey". When i started the blog the title i put up was "My Creed" (ala Jesus Creed; I'm a McKnight fan apparently) but it felt unoriginal. I think when we start something that happens. So, here is a list of books that effected my head and the ideas projected on this blog in no particular order:

- I'm a student of Theology (currently and will always be one). I'm a student of culture and a student of music as well. I guess you could say life is a never ending journey of learning. Because of that we never stop being students. Just a little something about this blog: Deconstructing The Monkey is all about being a safe space for emerging conversations

Thanks for sharing this Tremonti.
Excellent list I must say. Quite a few of the books on your list would make it into my own list of most influential books as well, especially the writings by Wright, McKnight, and Hays.
Mason,
Those three authors top my list as well, in fact all three have been the most influential in my thinking as well. If there were a post on the top three of my fave theologians they surely would make the cut. I noticed too that all three are NT scholars as well.
Blessings.
looks like our bookshelves are similar.
i would add the holy wild by mark buchanan and jesus with dirty feet by don everts.
theholywild,
i've been curious about Don evert's book especially the title you mentioned. But since you mentioned him, I might give him a try along with Mark Buchanan's one as well.
